I recently had an opportunity to travel to the Taylor Shellfish hatchery on Dabob Bay with the UW College of the Environment film crew to do a story on ocean acidification.
We had an absolutely amazing trip touring the facilities filled to the brim with baby geoduck, oyster broodstock, and bright, bubbling vats of algae... and I learned more details about the art and science of shellfish farming than I could have ever imagined.
During our trip, we squeezed in an interview where I discussed my thesis, gave advice to incoming students, and a little bit of everything in between.
